Active substances:

Lactic acid breaks the protein bonds between corneocytes, causing them to loosen and reducing the thickness of the hyperkeratotic stratum corneum.

Stimulates the production of collagen and glycosaminoglycans, components of the skin matrix.

It exerts a natural moisturizing effect on the skin by attracting water molecules to the stratum corneum and stimulating the synthesis of ceramides, thus improving and modulating its barrier function.

Mandelic acid has a larger molecular structure than other AHAs, so it penetrates the stratum corneum more slowly and requires a longer exposure time.

Therefore, it does not cause irritation or itching on the skin. Increases the synthesis of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans in the papillary dermis.

Azelaic acid is another ingredient sometimes used in chemical peels for its various skin benefits.
